Portable pH meter calibration steps

1. Clean the electrode head

Remove the cap of the pH electrode, clean the electrode head with distilled water and wipe it dry. Insert the electrode head into the pH standard buffer solution, stir gently, and wait for the reading to stabilize.

2. Calibrate the portable pH meter

a. Insert the pH electrode into the pH standard buffer solution, wait for the portable pH meter to stabilize, and calibrate according to the instructions for each machine. In general, two points need to be calibrated: pH value of 4.01 and standard buffer solution value of 7.00.

b. Put the portable pH meter into the 7.00 standard buffer solution, wait for the portable pH meter reading to stabilize, and adjust it according to the steps in the manual to make the portable pH meter reading the same as the standard value.

c. Place the portable pH meter in the 4.01 standard buffer solution and repeat the same adjustment steps. If the portable pH meter reading is the same as the standard value, it means that the portable pH meter is calibrated successfully.

3. Check the portable pH meter reading

After the portable pH meter is calibrated, check whether the pH reading is normal. Insert the pH electrode head into a solution with a known pH value and check whether the portable pH meter reading is accurate. If the portable pH meter reading is the same as the reading of the known pH value solution, it means that the portable pH meter is calibrated successfully.
